Together We Can Break The Pipeline
The school to prison pipeline is one of the most challenging issues faced by education systems across the country. Many of our current practices, policies, and systems create inequities that disproportionately impact students of color, causing them to come in contact with the criminal justice system at far higher rates than their white peers. It is possible to disrupt this pattern of inequity by becoming Anti-bias, Anti-racist (ABAR) educators who confront their own biases and work to eliminate racism in the education system.
The Together to Break the Pipeline Series was created so that educational stakeholders from across the St. Louis area can gather to do our part to break the school-to-prison pipeline. We believe in the power of us all to affect change. We meet regularly to learn, plan and brainstorm approaches and solutions.
