Tree of Life Synagogue Shootings

Educators for Social Justice received the news of the Pittsburgh shootings with horror, grief, and anger. We condemn, and stand in resistance to this deliberate and hateful display of anti-Semitism, as well as insidious and quieter forms of anti-Semitic brutality.  We stand with our families, our friends, and colleagues in our own community who like we, grieve from personal loss, rage at the hatred of religious oppression, and mourn the deaths from yet another act of vicious and deliberate gun violence. We stand with the Tree of Life synagogue and those who will carry on its good work, even in the absence of the eleven who were loved so very much. Please take a moment to speak their names:
Cecil and David Rosenthal
Dr. Jerry Rabinowitz
Irving Younger
Melvin Wax
Rose Mallinger
Bernice and Sylvan Simon
Joyce Fienberg
Dr. Richard Gottfried
Daniel Stein
May their memories be for blessing.
